“Riverview Meadows”

Would you enjoy having your grass cut, the snow removed right from your front door, your windows washed and eaves troughs cleaned? Would you enjoy one floor living in a two bedroom, 1,200 square foot home with a covered front porch and a rear deck? No stairs to climb, no step front entrances, no basement and a main floor laundry. Would you enjoy the use of a recreation hall, a fitness room, a library, shuffleboard and horseshoes? There is one catch! You have to be 55+ to live here.

This as you may have surmised by now, is a Parkbridge Communities Lifestyle Project. Visit their website

The units are built on leased land with a monthly lease fee. They are built mostly in clusters of six with a smaller number being in clusters of four. Red brick or brown brick in various shades, grey front stone, mostly cream trim and white coloured garage doors, tan or grey vinyl siding.

The use of stone can happen in two ways. Some units have exterior stone all around their garages and on the wall side leading up to their front doors. Other units only use stone around a unit’s front door and front window. When it comes to the use of brick, there are also some differences. Some end units enjoy full bricking up to their rooflines and other end units have a mix of brick and upper siding. Some peaked rooflines over the garages and the exterior end units have covered front porches that enjoy more privacy because they are not close to the front porches of neighbouring units.

Single car cement driveways however most are poured to be almost 1.5 car wide driveways. Finally, some units have rear views of a man-made pond with landscaping and a small number of clusters back onto farmers fields.

As for restrictions, there are a few. Restrictions include things like not making fires, not passing out flyers, no use of drones or using golf carts as a means of transportation after one a.m., no fences and new sheds need approvals, no working on vehicles in one’s driveway and obey the low speed limits.

It is all geared towards respecting your neighbours.

Walk to Crabby Joes and walk to grocery shopping. Also walk out of the south entranceway of this complex and discover the MacNaughton Nature Trail which takes you two kilometers east to the Morrison Dam Conservation area. Morrison Lake is thirty acres in size and is stocked with fish. Learn your limits. See our pictures. All dogs must be kept on a leash. Living next to a nature trail can be an invigorating experience.
